Oct Conference Camping Trip

Every Year for the Oct Conference, our family goes camping. We are able to see conference on TV where we go so it is a fun way to spend time as a family plus listen to a Prophets voice. I usually update out 72 hour packs but since this year we got free zed dried food that will last 30 years. I am just going to put one can in each of our back packs with lots of water. :)
Camping Site #1 at Strawberry
Camping Site #2 hour and 1/2 out side of Gilbert
Do you happen to see something wrong in this picture? Check out the front tires....

This year we started off in our normal spot near Strawberry but then after we drove the boys in to see Priesthood session in Strawberry we decided to move to the place we are going camping for the ward camp out the end of this month. It was wonderful and so many trails to follow there.

For the first time ever, I was in charge of the FOOD. Dean is usually in charge of it. Also we had packets for each of the kids to do while listening to conference.

The Newest addition to our family's conference was to do a Taste Testing of Orbit Gum. I LOVE Orbit Sweet Mint SO I got 9 other flavors for us to try. We got a new piece of gum every time a new person spoke in conference. We had to rate them 1-10. 10 being the best. It was fun plus it help keep us awake during the Sunday afternoon session. Perfectly Pomegranate came in first out of all the new flavors. I still love my Sweet Mint though.
We played a NEW game this year called "BS". The "BS" stood for "BOY SCOUT". What else would it mean? :)
A few other things we did: New Game, I don't know what it is called but you throw balls and hope they get got on one of the poles. Four Wheeling fun. I am just putting on my seat belt after a couple of fast turns.
Just Hang Out...Flexible BOYPink GIRL! That is basically the only color of clothes she wears. I love this picture of Taylor and JJ. Look at JJ's Face. Too much brotherly Love...
Sleeping...Kyle and his DS were hardly separated except for Conference. The talk that touched me the most was about Angels Among Us. I totally believe that and can look back on my life where there have been angels there. The spirit touched my heart so strongly during that talk that I cried though most of it. I truly Believe my Mother is one of those Heavenly Angels among us. Especially for my family. I am grateful to a Loving Heavenly Father that does not leave us alone in our troubles. We have Heavenly Angels and Earthly Angels that are lead by inspiration to us in our times of need. I am so very blessed to have true friends who have been Earthly Angels to me in my times of need. Most of the time they have not known it but they have lifted me when I have needed it the most....

Morning Clouds. Taylor took this one. I just love it.

love the picture of you and dean--that is a keeper! Your weekend sounds like so much fun--what is the story of the wheels in the air?
I have heard the golf ball game called hill billy golf--love that game--it is so much fun. We had a tournament on the beach last year--only way to get us out of our chairs. I can't believe how grown up all the kids are looking but especially Kyle--holie molie! I love your idea gum--how fun and creative--And most of all i love your insite into what touched you--I know that there are angels among us and that we can all be instruments in the lords hands, to help each other and lighten each others burdens. Thanks for sharing your weekend--we are off to Mexico

Oh! This makes me want a camping trailer SO BAD! I love the picture of you and Dean too...What a great pair! But I am most dying about your ORBIT GUM tasting method of listening to conference. That's the best idea I have heard this year. I need to remember that one for sure! Thanks for sharing and fantastic pics, Annette!
