Gilbert Temple Ground Breaking

I can not tell you how thrilled I am to have a temple being built just down the street from my home!
The ground breaking was amazing to go to.  There was a nice breeze blowing.   I don't remember what was said, I remember how I felt.  PEACEFUL!  What a marvelous thing to be a part of.

Artist Picture of the future Gilbert Temple.

"The 15-acre site near Greenfield and Pecos roads"

"the 83,000-square-foot temple will use ivory-colored stone and concrete and feature leaded-glass windows. A 195-foot spire will rise from the center of the three-story structure, capped by a gold-plated statue of a trumpeting angel, a trademark symbol of Mormon temples."

"On Saturday, November 13, 2010, Elder Claudio R. M. Costa of the Presidency of the Seventy presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Gilbert Arizona Temple where thousands crowded on site to witness the first ceremonial shovelfuls of dirt. The temple is expected to be completed in approximately two years."

Our Family

Scott, Cheri and their family came out to be be apart of this as well. It was fun to share the experience with them.   Dean, Kyle and DT came earlier in the day to set up the chairs.
