Mother's Day 2011

I had a great Mother's Day this year.  I was not so sure it would be that great as DT was asked to speak in church that Sunday.  I told him he would be struck by lighting if he said what a perfect mom i am.  I know I am not perfect and Some days really hate mother's days.  Especially the talks in church.  Lets just make me feel MORE bad about not being the perfect mother.  But the this Sunday was great.  DT did a great job. His talk is below.  Also I got one of those Anti Gravity Chairs, which has been lovingly nicknamed the THRONE as it is just for the the Queen to set on not any one else.  I love the chair.  One of the pictures below is of JJ giving me a massage in the THRONE.  Dean also got me a corsage It was beautiful.  I really felt loved.  The family made a great lunch for me.  Since Madison and I are gluten free.  They made Chocolate Waffles and Regular Pancakes that were all gluten free.  It was so yummy.

JJ had a Mother's Day at her Kindergarten Class.  How I love that little girl.....

Hi my name is Dean Moore. And I was asked to speak on the virtue of mother hood. The first thing I decide to do is to start by looking up what is virtue of motherhood.

These are the things I got. First is from M Russell Ballard talk about “women of righteousness“he talks about how motherhood is one of the highest measures before the lord that is of goodness. And how motherhood is part of the plan of eternal life.

Another article is from Sheri L dew her talk was called “are we not all mothers” she talks about how mother hood is more than bearing children it is to raise them in light of the gospel. This is a quote from her talk “the first presidency six decades ago when they called motherhood is the highest and holiest service assumed by mankind. She goes on to say that without righteous mothers loving and leading the next generation and the kingdom of god will fail. Another thing that stood out to me is in the same talk she goes on to say that god gave a gift to mothers is the gift of motherhood.

And I have seen this though my mother by leading me in the light of the gospel and showing love to my family and even to her brother who went in active in the church. She has an everlasting faith that someday he will come back to the church.

I’m sure a lot of you out there that has been waiting for me to bring agriculture into my talk well here it is. Mothers are just like hens! Because the mother hen will show her chicks where the feed is and water and protect them from the weather and predators. When one of my hens had some chicks and they were just walking around there mom and it started to rain so all the chickens all went it cover Expect this momma hen she just stood there with all 7 of her chicks covered up and out of the rain.

Another story is when a barn burned down and investigators came to look why they saw these little heaps on the ground and one of the guys asked what that is he said move the heap and you will see when he moved the heap all these baby chicks came out and how the mother gave up her life to save her baby’s. Both of those stories show how the hen would not move even if it meant giving up her life own or getting really wet. Our mothers act much in the same way as hens because they would do that and much more because they are leading us in the light of the gospel. I will have a strong foundation started while I was young in the gospel because my mother helped me start in the right way towards having eternal Life. And I believe that mother hood is part of our Heavenly Fathers plan and that mothers are very needed to raise the next Righteous generation in the gospel.
