Chickens Chickens and Moore Chickens

This is the scene every morning @ 5:30am and then again at 5:30pm out my back window.  I love looking out there and seeing our chickens meandering around our yard. They are wanting us to come out and feed them.   They crack me up with their different personalities.  Well, I can't remember if I told you Snowball, JJ's white chicken with the feather legs and a puff of feather on her head, had babies.  They are pictured around the main picture above.  The bottom pic we have loving named Minnie Me as it looks like its mommy and the one next to it looks an awful lot like a roadrunner that lives next door.  Those two are my favs.  There is also another white one but It was not out when I was taking pictures.
Well, Snowball is setting on another set of eggs.  And we just found 2 other hens setting on nests as well. WE REALLY NEED TO MAKE A CHICKEN COOP!   Seriously, these hens are not laying in the place we have set up for them.  They are sneaky.  And find a little spot usually by the hay or pine needles to lay the eggs.  So we don't collect them.  And by the time we find them, we don't know how long they have been sitting on the eggs.  So they sit on them until they hatch.  We are getting over run with CHICKENS!  Love to watch them and all but come on my boys, lets get working on a Coop.  ;)

Dang! You weren't kidding when you had a lot of chickens. Yes, you need a coop. A very unromantic coop! Whatever is going on over at the Moores, the birds are digging it!!
