Things I learned about PIG Showing, you have to look Creepy to win it. I wish I would have got a picture of the Grand Champion boy. He was bent over and constantly staring at the judge. And just over all kinda creepy. Also, a 6 year old was showing a Pig and winning! Seriously some people are really into this! People were rubbing lotion on the pig’s hind quarters to make it look "shinny" for the judges. Guess I need to get some lotion for PORK CHOPS hams. Who knew? Pigs don't particularly like to be walked around the pen with a little pig whip. DT had a hard enough time to get him to the Pen. Next, Pigs sometimes just get a wild hair and start running across the show pen to start a fight with another pig or just smell each other. And it is hilarious when one decides to take a roll in the dirt right in front of the judge. (That happened last time DT showed PORK CHOP and it is a really bad no no) Also, the reason behind the cutting of Pigs tails and removing teeth when they are baby pigs. (this question was asked of DT while in the Pen). Also, something that tastes so GOOD could smell so BAD! Lastly, how proud I was of my boy that he is trying something NEW. He is breaking new ground for our family. He was happy he got second to last this time around and not LAST place. He is improving.... So off to the Maricopa County Fair in April.
