Christmas Book Tradition

I can not take all the credit for the Christmas Book tradition. My mother in law started me off with about 10 books but I am up to 30. We wrapped each one of them after Christmas. So when the next Christmas comes they are ready to go. We unwrap one a day until Christmas. It is fun and it helps add the Christmas spirit in our home. Their are Fun Santa ones, Spiritual ones, ones with Giving message, Some with wonderful art work, some ones that are just fun to read.
Some one asked me, "what's your favorite book?" I was going to say "Santa Mouse" because I had that the longest, but then their is "A Rugrats Christmas" which is so much fun to read, but the "Red Ranger Came Calling", "the Perfect Snowman" and Mary Engelbert's "A Night before Christmas" art is fabulous, "the Jolly Christmas Postman" is so interactive, their is "The First Christmas" and "When Jesus was Born" which are amazing. Oh I can not pick just one. Trust me, it is fun to collect Christmas Books. This years NEW book is "A Creature was Stirring". A cute tale of a little boy who stayed awake Christmas night.
I do have chapter books as well but they do not get wrapped as it takes longer then one night to read them. One of my all time favorites of those is "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" by Barbara Robinson. I laughed so hard though the whole book. Get read aloud.

I have to give you credit for starting this tradition in my family. I think I first saw your basket of wrapped books about nine years ago. The next year I began the same tradition with my family. Everybody I tell thinks it's brilliant, and I give you all the credit. Thanks for being such a positive influence on my family's lives.
