This is my dad. He was up here to go to the Mayo Clinic. He has Barrett's Disease. It is when you have Acid Reflux for years, it starts to destroy the lining of the esophagus and eventually will lead to Cancer of the esophagus. So, The Doctors at the Mayo Clinic Burned the lining of his esophagus to hopefully prevent anymore damage. All went well, on Monday and he left to go back home Tuesday.

My kids love it when Grandpa Buzzo comes to visit. I am surprised how much they love him as we don't get to see him very often. He is always quizzing them on math problems and telling jokes. He thinks he can speak Spanish by putting some random Spanish words into a sentence and adding an "O" to the end of words. This time he brought treats from Mexico to try. It was a candy that is Chinese but sold in Mexico. I did not like it but all my kids did.

As I was taking pictures of him while he was here. I got this image. It hit a cord with me. This is the face of the Father I grew up with. I always felt that I disappointed him in one way or another.
It is amazing how life keeps moving on. With Time, things mellow out. My Father is a different person then when I was a kid. And I am a different person. We have had many struggles. But I am grateful for the person the kids know as Grandpa Buzzo.

I think it takes growing up on both ends to really appreciate your parents and kids. Thank goodness for time so we can have a chance to grow up.
